Rob Elliiott goes to the country

Known amongst our clients as one of the storyboard artists with the more realistic finish to his work Rob Elliott has skills outside of concept art. In his free time he exercises his passion for the way light falls on different subjects. Looking at some of his personal works below it becomes apparent that working in pastel and charcoal involves a keen understanding for light and shade.

Because of this passion for the way light falls we like to put Rob on those concepts that allow him to enjoy himself. This campaign featured below is a perfect example of Rob enjoying himself on behalf of a client’s idea. If you look at the first two layouts, the skies, the landscape and even the people and trucks are all depicted in a gentle tone with sun kissed light. When you get to the third layout which reveals the problem of tics, the clouds are more jagged and the angle of the sign cuts above the natural perspective line emphasizing the impact when the central idea is revealed.
