Interactive Space Concept

My concept is how life constantly throws problems at you. Problems will eventually pile up and you can choose to ignore them and let them overwhelm you. Or, you can choose to deal with it and solve those problems.

In this interactive space assignment, the application will be using a webcam in order to display the space. Overtime, boxes and circles which represent problems will start flying towards the user on the screen. Users can choose to do nothing and let the boxes and circles (problems) pile up and eventually overwhelm the screen. Or they could use motion to move those boxes and circles away and out of the screen in order to deal with those problems.
In the final phase of this assignment, there has been a few changes due to technical difficulties and time. The problems are now represented by circles. Since problems in life varys in difficulty and size, I made the circles appear in random sizes and colours when it appears. Also, the original idea to use movement to get rid of the "problems". All the user needed to do was to swoop the problems to the side to eliminate it. However, the problems tend to bounce to the side and disappear by itself. After, I made it so that the problems can only be rid of by making it go off the screen upwards. I managed to achieve this by using background subraction which detects movement within the webcam by subracting what was on the webcam before. As of now, all movement will create a red shape behind where the motion was before. The circles (problems) are spawned randomly at the top every second and will drop down. The problems will bounce off the left, right, and bottom walls. If the problem goes to the top of the screen, it will dissapear. When the problems (circles) detects any red color within its position, it will then proceed to fly up in a random detection. This will mimic as though the problems are being pushed up with motion.
