Theoretical Experimentation of a Craft Gin Identity

Introduction
This project was aimed at designing and creating three beautiful bespoke labels for a well-known South African Gin brand, by means of using old and new techniques. These techniques being a traditional technique, a digital technique and lastly mixed media. Each individual label being created through the use of one of these techniques. This project is for educational purposes and only experimental and does not reflect the selected brand.
Chosen Gin Brand- Belgravia Blood Orange
A firm and refreshing South African favourite. Belgravia Gin & Dry Lemon is made from only the finest ingredients - classic aromatic botanicals infused London dry gin and bitter lemon juice. Belgravia London Dry Gin is distilled with eight of the finest aromatic botanicals with hints of peppery spice, citrus and juniper. It is a smooth London Dry gin which is full of delicious flavours and aromas.

Traditional Print Process Work
Within in my traditional label design, I decided to do a paint stamp technique which consists of me painting the object, which in this case was the inside and outside of a lemon and then pressing it onto paper to leave a stamp mark. I did this in two different colours and multiple times to get the best results
Digital Print Process Work
Within my digital design, I made use of Adobe Illustrator to create patterns from my Traditional techniques such as creating a digital version of the orange I had pressed as well as using the texture of the orange peel that I had scanned in to create a pattern out of that.
Mixed Media Print Process
Within my mixed media design I designed a label for the neck of the gin bottle. I incorporated my digital pattern with that of my paint stamp from my traditional press, to create a flush mixed media design for my gin bottle neck.
