Dissona’s factory was initially built in the 1980s. The new facade adopts whole steel-framed structure for grand appearance, which creates between the facade and previous exterior structure a deck space, serving as a social venue and an additional escape route. The mid-grey steel elements in traverse directions bring a sense of magnificence and integration. What’s more, humanized design of the façade wall avoids monotony and old fashion of the original style of the architecture. The newly built facade has also added benefit of blocking out the sun and reduced the energy consumption for the tropical weather in the south China.
At the symmetrical reception area, the rays of the sun pour in through the ingenious designed ceiling. We adopt environment-friendly reengineering profile wood wool cement board on the wall, which can decrease the impact on the environment brought about by traditional wooden or fiber material and maximize efficient use of the capital.
Jury Committee of German IF Design Award has given the high appraisal for this design: “we really like this design for it expresses the pure aesthetic environment in the space. We are deeply attracted by the whole environment occupied by the stripe element, and the invigorating and enthusiastic layout built from the woods, cement, steel and glass. This simple but elegant design has shown the sophisticated and skillful materials utilization and process, transmitting the building function, and maintaining its unique and delicate aesthetic feeling.
