For this project, the creator was afraid of her video being too basic. She wanted something that would be somewhat different from other creators in her circle, but still recognizable and familiar to her viewers. Before filming she asked me what I would need to make a beautiful video, so I mentioned B-Roll footage. The camera this client had at the time had a lens that didn't work properly, so everything was a bit too close for comfort. My main goal with the footage was to make it appear that it was a conscious creative decision that was made.
I decided to go with an almost found-footage/documentary/home-video style video. Something that kept the "aesthetic winter" theme but was also cozy and not too pretentious. I kept in some of the clips that were filmed on accident because they added to vibe I was trying to create.
Overall I think the video came out very pretty and it fits the theme that we had agreed on. The creator was very happy with the product and says its one of her favorite videos. She had since tasked me with editing more of her non-vlog life style videos to "make pretty" as she calls it.
