Overview

Split means dividing the space, and it is a partition-type air purifier located in the middle of the space and efficiently cleans the air in a large space. It increases the value of space by managing indoor air quality while effectively separating space in large spaces such as offices and exhibition halls.

Split will ventilate not only the air but also the space differently.

'Split'은 공간을 나눠 준다는 뜻으로, 공간의 한 가운데에 위치하여 넓은 공간의 공기를 효율적으로 청정 시켜 주는 파티션 형태의 공기청정기입니다.

사무실, 전시장과 같은 넓은 공간에서 실내의 공기 질을 관리하고 효과적으로 공간 분리를 해줌으로써 공간의 가치를 더욱 높여 줄 수 있습니다.

Split은 공기뿐만 아니라 공간 또한 색다르게 환기해 줄 것입니다.

Background

Due to the spread of fine dust and the COVID-19 virus, the use of air purifiers is continuously increasing.

미세먼지와 코로나 19 바이러스의 확산으로 인해 공기청정기 사용량은 지속적으로 증가하고 있습니다.

Ideation

Existing air purifiers should be used more than a certain distance away from the wall for smooth air circulation. However, most people use them close to the wall to take up as little space as possible. To solve this problem, we wanted to design an air purifier that people want to put in the middle, not at the end of the space.

공기청정기는 벽에서 일정 거리 이상을 떨어뜨려서 사용해야 제 기능을 할 수 있습니다. 하지만 대부분의 사람들은 공기청정기가 최대한 공간을 덜 차지하도록 하기 위해 벽에 딱 붙여 사용하곤 합니다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 저희는 공간의 끝이 아닌 한 가운데에 두고 싶은 공기청정기를 디자인하고자 하였습니다.

Concept

Patition-type Air Purifier

We came up with the idea of giving air purifiers the role of partitions as a way to put them at the center, not at the end of space.

Split, which separates large spaces, is designed to effectively clean up large spaces in the middle of the space, not just to clean up the surrounding air from the edge of the space.

파티션형 공기청정기

공기청정기를 공간의 끝이 아닌 중심에 두는 방법으로서 공기청정기에 파티션 역할을 부여하는 것을 생각해냈습니다.

넓은 공간을 분리해주는 Split은 공간의 테두리에서 그 주변 공기만 좁게 청정하는 것이 아니라 공간의 한 가운데에서 넓은 공간의 공기를 효과적으로 청정할 수 있도록 디자인 되었습니다.

‘Split’ inhales the dust which is usually at the floor, and then it exhales clean air by the other side and the upper side.

넓은 공간을 청정하는 구조

가장 먼지가 많이 쌓여있는 바닥에 가까운 하단에서 공기가 흡입하고 상단과 반대편으로 깨끗한 공기를 내보냅니다.

Interface

Intuitive and Concise Features

The interface of display which is located on the front of the product controls the power switch and adjusts the air volume.
The condition of the indoor air can be checked from the center of the display.

정면 디스플레이를 통해 전원을 켜고 풍량을 조절합니다.

실내 공기 상태는 가장 잘 보이는 중앙에서 확인할 수 있습니다.

Filters

Two Easy-to-get Filters

Two filters can be easily pulled out.
Once users press the marked part on the product with fingers,

they can detect the filters protruded and then just take out of the product.

The filters consist of two pieces on both sides, considering the size of the product.

간편하게 꺼내는 두 개의 필터

손가락으로 누른 후 튀어나온 필터를 당기면 제품에서 필터를 쉽게 꺼낼 수 있습니다.

제품의 크기를 고려하여 필터는 양쪽에 2개로 구성되어 있습니다.

Suitable Partition for Space

Each ‘Split’ can be used in conjunction,
considering the purpose and environment of use.
The users can use multiple ‘Splits’with one wire by flipping the terminal, which helps to connect another device.

공간에 맞는 파티션

사용환경과 용도에 따라 Split을 이어 붙여 사용할 수 있습니다.

측면에 있는 단자를 돌려 다른 기기와 연결하여 하나의 전선으로 여러 대의 Split을 사용합니다.

Material

Reversal of the Material and Space

The front side of ‘Split’ is designed with a fabric material that can harmonize with the interior,
and the other side is designed with a pattern type that can give an outstanding impression to the interior.
Through these two materials’ contrast, users can feel as if they are in two different spaces.

재질과 공간의 반전

전면은 인테리어와 어우러질 수 있는 패브릭으로, 배면은 인테리어에 포인트를 줄 수 있는 패턴으로 구성되어 있습니다.
이러한 재질 대비를 통해 Split으로 나눠진 공간에 있는 사용자는 공간이 반전되는 느낌을 느낄 수 있습니다.
