    The site this proposal was made for is the ruin of a Roman thermal bathhouse in Portugal. As such, it’s geometry is that of a lattice in form and spatial distribution. In contrast to it is original layout, we proposed an area free from these constraints in a merger between past and present. We experimented with a roll of film to create random spaces, as detailed in figure 01. The most appropriate can be seen on the bottom right corner, and constitutes the basic design for the museum. It allows visitors to explore these historic remains whilst protecting the more fragile areas of the Roman structure. Read Less
