According to the Hindu mythology, Lord Ganesha earned a special reward from Shiva and
since then he has always enjoyed the first place in any auspicious activity that even remotely
involves worshipping or seeking blessings. Every new venture is started by "Ganesh Poojan"
and at the Upvan Arts Festival 2014 it was no different. A Dance Troop from Orrissa started
their performance by enacting a piece of mythologial literature and paying their respect to the
"God of All Good things" and the most popular and loving "Ganesha". The heat was unrelenting
but so was the determined troop. Its is extremely interesting to watch a performance from the
begining. The wait of the artists, the onlookers, the pride and the effort... all that makes a
spectacle which remains in the spectators memory to be rejoiced.
