Hermaphroditus: the perfect Union Collection

The research is based on the poetics of Greco-Roman myth of Hermaphroditus, the young God ambiguous endowed with extraordinary beauty and son of the gods Aphrodite and Hermes, and its manifestations in the contemporary world.From this mythological tale the theme develops a poetic form, by shredding some symbologies and contextualizing them in a current universe.The symbols highlighted are:
Duality of genders, Ambiguity, body Metamorphosis and unification of the human.
The immortals hear the cry of the nymph, and quickly the two bodies began to merge, both breasts, glued firmly prevented to separate their trunks, their mouths are blended into each other, making a perpetual Kiss, her legs clasped the waist of the nymph young tied the two creatures forever in a indissoluble node, thus creating a unique and perfect be Desperate.Hermaphroditus, asks the skies that all who bathed in the clear waters of the Fountain of Salmacis became like him, half-man, half-woman.And once again, the gods attended the request of the son of two sexes, and cursed the waters of that source.
THE POETICS OF MYTH

From this myth, some abstract symbologies were selected and translated their concepts according to the dictionary Aurélio (2010);Duality is the character of what is dual or double (coexistence of two principles), Ambiguity comes from ambiguous that can take in more than one sense, Unification (human being) means gathering in a whole or in one body, or in a single set, and Metamorphosis (of the body) in its widest sense it denotes transformation.
In search of how to achieve these concepts presented above, androgynous figure was found in the embodiment of these conceptions, and so studies extend parallel to the androgynous represented in current society culture.

Embroidery is the strong work of the collection, because it assists in defining an aesthetic as a differentiator.
The inspiration for the embroidery came from Nike Schroeder that on the surface of a screen works illustrations made with embroidered lines, usually in these illustrations he represents people in many situations. Following the technique of Nike, was developed the art, which displays some couples in your moments of affection, with the technique of embroidery around the entire contour and line remains in some random points. This art symbolizes the Union of masculine and feminine genders, and unified by embroidering the entire illustration, and couples are representations of the figure of Hermaphroditus and Salmacis
