This is my entry for the Puffin Children's Prize of The Penguin Design Award 2014. 

 

The brief was to design a book cover for the classic The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton, first published in 1967. Called 'the true teenage rebel story', The Outsiders is a story of Greasers and Socs, two groups in the society that are against each other and how the lives of a group of friends gets affected because of the conflict between the two classes. There is aggression, tension, emotional and physical pain and suffering, and above all, the spirit of brotherhood. 

 

I later took the idea forward and designed promotional material for the book, as a personal project.
