This is the second project I have completed for my Introductory unit during the first year of study at the Arts University Bournemouth (AUB). The task was to create a design for the back of a lorry that would prevent drivers from overtaking it. The left side door needed to represent life, while the right represented death.
Initial sketch
I noticed a resemblance in the shape of a light bulb and a noose. I decided to combine the two to represent life and death. This could also be perceived as 'a good idea' to stay left and 'suicide' to try to overtake.

I used these images to trace over using the brush tool in Adobe Illustrator.
First draft using a lorry template provided in the project brief. Dark grey added on right door to emphasise meaning.
I decided to find a more interesting image of a lorry to work from.
Lorry is also reproduced using the brush tool on Adobe Illustrator.
Final design on landscape A3 for presentation purposes. Background image is cropped so that design appears three dimensional.
