Based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, Peterson + Stoop is a one of a kind design studio.
Founded by Jarah Peterson and Jelske Stoop in 2013, they came up with the concept of remastering iconic sneakers, ranging through Nike's AF1, Adidas's Stan Smith and Chucks from Converse, among others.
The idea is to use only second-hand shoes and give them a new life while twisting their design and improve their overall quality.
The upper of the shoe is cleaned and repaired if needed, so it looks brand new, while the original sole is removed and replaced by a unique design, made of a leather stormwelt and either a leather or EVA sole.

I was lucky enough to be an apprentice there, getting my hands dirty, while at the same time working as a project manager, fresh off my textile engineering studies.
A dream came true.
Through this intimate & privileged prism, Romane and I captured the beauty and essence of the work done by skillful designers armed with genuine cobblers' moves. Product shots, lookbook photography, brand presentation video (above), design session, you name it, we made it.
The aim of this project you're about to scroll through is to transcribe the merging of each of our individual passions, sharing glimpses of the fun we had working on such a beautiful playground.
