Codex Vitae
This virtual book project aims to visually illustrate the effects of the genetic "CRISPR-CAS9" tool, which enables people to change their own DNA.The title of this book is derived from the DNA itself, as it is frequently referred to as the "code of life" and "codex vitae" (the Latin version), as many of the names given to species are derived from Latin.
Although the word "gene editing" is frequently used interchangeably with the term "CRISPR," the Cas9 system and its ability to selectively pick DNA make it possible to successfully alter the genomes of numerous other systems as well as those of mammalian cells.
Throughout this book, you can see a series of graphical representations that have been created specifically for this topic, addressing the various feelings experienced; that is, they were created with elements of the theme itself, such as the human genome, scientific techniques such as "in vitro," and incorporating other metaphorical messages such as "the hand god," which implied that we are approaching the powers of the gods. All aesthetic elements serve a purpose and are more than just a visual presence.
