The Risk is Giant.

-The Risk is Giant: A campaign created for the 2013 Design Ignites Change | AIGA Professional Felowship Contest-. The five posters’ title acts as the main copy for the campaign. “The Risk is Giant (El Riesgo es Gigante)”. This phrase is intended to draw the public’s attention while introducing the word “Giant (Gigante)” which would be directly linked to the name of the pest.

The Giant African Land Snail is invading the rural areas of Colombia's central-western region (Valle del Cauca). The visual campaign "The Risk is Giant" would help to alert the community about the imminent risks of this non-native invasive species. The campaign also intends to provide the necessary information to help the community identify the species, and become alert of the risks. This pest is known to cause Meningitis to those that come in contact with it, but also, it is capable of destroying crops. The main objective is to increase the awareness of the community about the pest and help the local authorities with controlling efforts. A secondary statement is also a commonality in the five posters providing the main message the community should remember about this pest. This statement reads “The Giant African Land Snail is a pest that invades agricultural fields and and poses a health risk to the community”.
