The city of Indianapolis commissioned Rokh Research & Design Studio to walk street-by-street and catalog every creative expression they found in the built environment. This data was analyzed and compared with existing data to reveal patterns and ways in which equity was lacking.

The findings were compiled into an 86-page report. I designed its look-and-feel, including reimagining the digitally generated maps to resemble hand-crafted ones.

Instagram teasers primed viewers with a question that sparks an opinion/memory/curiosity, delivered an interesting key finding from the public art census, then concluded with a call-to-action.

Though it added many steps to each graphic I made, I never abandoned the hand-crafted aesthetic. Bringing these organic visuals into the ephemeral realm of social media graphics helped demonstrate how much we cared about the research and findings, signaling to the viewer that they should too.
