The Escape Ballet

I thought it would be funny to park a 2013 Ford Escape between two other Ford Escapes using Active Park Assist. When I told my wife about the idea, she said “wouldn’t it be even funnier if you synchronized two Escapes parallel parking between three Escapes”. The result is the “Escape Ballet“.

We shot this at “Drive to Discover”, a cross-country roadshow put on by Ford Canada. We arrived early at the event when it came to Missasauga and the team banged this out in a couple of hours.

Surprisingly, the synchronized active park assist worked perfectly on the first try. The technology is amazing. If you get the chance, you should really try it out.

At the time of this writing the video has over 10,000 views, which is pretty good for a video that has no paid support behind it. It was also featured on a number of autoblogs and websites, including Jalopnik, one of the internet’s most popular car sites.
