A Brocade of Images: Landscapes and Figures in Tapestry and Embroidery

The visual design of “A Brocade of Images: Landscapes and Figures in Tapestry and Embroidery” is inspired by the weaving skill, adding the technique pattern as an element into the key visual, also combined with antiquities on display. The collage method produces a dialogue between the virtual and the real. Heading font is also consistent with the weaving line, and designed to be flat and long.Traditional Tapestry and Embroidery are characterized by bright, colorful and complex colors. However, the art works on display are not as good as expected due to their age. Therefore, in the main visual design, using bright and saturated colors supplied by simple geometry, color blocks and other styles are presented together with the details of the exhibited works, which makes the overall picture feel more modern and innovative.
In order to make the overall visual system more coherent and rich, some of the embroidery techniques have been singled out and developed into their own pattern to emphasize the feature of this exhibition, which is based on the theme of Tapestry and Embroidery, consistent with the beauty of traditional art.
