After several years coping with the indie web design scene, I decided to take a leap forward in 2007 and open my own office space. One year later I had succesfully hired a team of two supportive web developers and launched our corporate website drawing our first line on the sand: We weren´t a web shop anymore. Now KOALAB had become an Internet marketing agency focused on the tourism industry.
Our very first website standing on this role needed to associate our brand image with the usual icons of the tourism industry while providing a clear sense of what we were: A young & motivated team with a strong expertise in developing web apps: CMS, CRS, etc...
For this reason we included a blog were we published up to 2 or 3 posts on a weekly basis. Its topics spread between hardcore programming tutorials (including code) to marketing rants and musings with a special focus on ecommerce case studies. The blog gained rapidly momentum and we achieved a loyal audience throughout the country.
