Balia & Santosh

If you keenly observe the pages of history, you can know about education and its practical usage and how, like the fragrance of a flower, the human being has achieved perfection in meditation in the nectarian aroma of education. In between the life values and lifestyle of a human being, education is important for society.

We all live in the 21st century today and are able to make use of scientific tools, industrial science and high-end equipment only for the practical usage of education. Today in the entire world, while the government is vouching for the promotion of education, many children are taking up agriculture for their family's upkeep. It is said, we live and the world lives through water conservation.

In the month of March, one afternoon, while I, Biswajit Moharana and my friend were busy appreciating the natural beauty of the green jungles and strolling around the Rani Dudma village in Koraput, we came across two tribal boys Balia & Santosh. The brother duo was quite famous, caring and affectionate. They were moving around the hills by carrying different farming equipment to take care of their family. Using their presence of mind and conscience, they formed a strategy for water conservation. By cutting the rocks, they conserved the waterfall stream and using the modern agricultural techniques, they are able to do farming in the fertile fields.

In the fertile farming fields, they planted several trees like tomatoes and by using the requisite amount of fertilizers, they are able to take care of their family. They have settled their lives as well as their future through the agricultural produce obtained from the farms.
