2021 yılında Ürün Tasarımı IV dersi Zırhlı Personel Taşıyıcı projesi kapsamında geliştirilen aracın ilk tasarlanan komponentlerindendir. İki çeşit lastik tasarımı üzerinde çalıştık ve bunlardan biri standart askeri araçlarda kullanılan havalı lastikler. Bunlar kolay bulunması gerek arazi koşullarında gerekse asfalt zeminde son derece etkili performans göstermekte eski teknoloji ürünü olması lastiğin kötü olduğu anlamına gelmemekte. Diğeri ise İngilizce tabirle ‘’airless tire’’ olarak geçen havasız lastikler. Havasız olduğu için patlama, hava sızdırma, basınç düşmesi gibi birçok problemi ortadan kaldıran bu yeni lastik modeli, çeşitli avantajlar sunmakta. Bu lastiklerin bakım maliyetinin de neredeyse sıfıra yakın olduğu da belirtiliyor. Ancak yüksek hız veya zorunlu arazi koşullarında hala sınırlı kullanım sunmakta. İki lastiğide modelledik ve uygun koşullarda ikisini de aracımızda kullanmayı hedefledik.
Product Design IV course in 2021 is one of the first designed components of the vehicle, which was developed within the scope of the Armored Personnel Carrier project. We worked on two types of tire designs and one of them is pneumatic tires used on standard military vehicles. These are easy to find and perform very effectively both in off-road conditions and on asphalt surfaces, but the fact that they are old technology does not mean that the tire is bad. The other is airless tires, which are referred to as "airless tires" in English. This new tire model, which eliminates many problems such as explosion, air leakage, pressure drop, offers various advantages because it is airless. It is also stated that the maintenance cost of these tires is almost zero. However, it still offers limited use in high speed or forced off-road conditions. We modeled both tires and aimed to use both in our vehicle under suitable conditions.
