UI Design | UI Art

This UI Design project was a test I did for a studio.
The game's theme was Feudal Japan and Samurai.

1- Active search: I decided to place the graphic elements with the characteristics closest to the Japanese oriental culture, such as: watery paint brushstrokes and a small cherry blossom icon in a more stylized way.
The font used throughout the project was "Tahoma Regular", a modern sans serif font that makes visual reading pleasant without taking away from the oriental harmony of the project.

2- Compass Minimap: I decided on this map model. I believe that the less information on the HUD, the better the user experience for this game as if the user was actually participating in the present narrative.

3- Health | Stamina: As it is a samurai game, I found it interesting to put the blood and stamina bar, in the silhouette of a katana. The sword's blade represents the character's health, and the hilt represents the stamina bar.

4- skill: The character's abilities are within the elements that represent the same flower as the icons are on the minimap and in the quests to have an integrity between the elements.
I opted for the minimalist format and without painting or 3D because this way it doesn't compete for attention with the game.

Left menus: The elements, as mentioned above, are represented by the watery ink stroke. When switching menus, the cherry blossom icon changes color (white to yellow), and the brush hints at the strongest color.

Skills: Surrounded by the samurai's paint at each point acquired in skills a new circle of paint will appear, representing a new move or skill that the character will learn and their levels.

Design BG: Representation of ancient Japanese paintings made with ink on papyrus.
