Shapes of humankind

Shapes of humankind is a project made this July during the ARTECH art residency in Tronchón, Spain.
For this project I wanted to explore in a contemporary and minimalistic way the expressiveness of wool and its intrinsic warmth, while taking into account the role it played in Tronchón’s history, aiming to address its cultural heritage. The works take in an abstract way the shapes of human silhouettes, that once placed in Tronchon’s streets become in a metaphorical way inhabitants of Tronchón, moving through town and carrying its story and history within themselves. With the use of traditional materials and natural colours, the works can easily blend with its surroundings, creating a soft visual dialogue.
