Industrial Style Furniture
Approached by client to design a range of industrial style furniture from the ground up, including how it would fit together, and could be produced. Initial production volumes are small, but the design allows for higher volumes of manufacturing without affecting the design.
Originally, it was planned that the design would be sold to the customer flat-packed, but due to the costs associated with the quality materials involved, it was deemed more appropriate to be sold pre-built.
Industrial design of coffe table utilises punched and folded 3mm steel, powder coated in anthracite, with corrosion proof black oxide bolts.
Side view along length. Top and shelf made from 20mm thick hand selected Oak boards, with 3 coats of danish oil to make surfaces stain and ring resistant, and are then polished with wax to achieve a deep and durable lustre.

The first prototype was finished in gloss black with chromed bolts. It also uses double height boards, intended to give a heavier look.
