This bedside table was created to explore the use of wood in conjunction with concrete. The tabletop is a quarter piece of a log, divided to give an angular and sharp appearance from the back end. The wood was reclaimed from a downed tree in Brooklyn after the destruction of Hurricane Sandy. The table's legs puncture the rough bark of the log, continuing through, and becoming visible from the table top. The concrete was formed with plywood around the log, and dyed with charcoal to give it a dark appearance.
