An illustrated portrait of a cat waiting on the window sill in the early morning.
The illustration was done in Procreate.
The lighting was particularly challenging for this piece. After the sketch,
I started with black and white tones to explore highlights and the shadows
and the overall mood. Scroll to see my progress below!
When the gray tones had the right balance, it was time to fill in the colors. For this I used the alpha lock option in Procreate and used warm tones for light
and one cold tone for shadows. As you can see, I changed my mind a few times!
