Parametric Texture | Logitech

The Logitech Lift Vertical Mouse is a beautiful and ergonomical object, but it's also a complex shape to 3D model. Fear not, in the Workflow webinar 4.0, we will be learning to recreate this mouse in Rhinoceros. Not just that, we will also apply textures with Grasshopper to the padding and create stunning renders in Keyshot! So join us LIVE in the Free Workflow Webinar 4.0 by Cademy on YouTube.

Software: Rhinoceros, Grasshopper 3D & Keyshot
3D Print: SLA resin print with Elegoo Mars Pro
These more advance textures are extracts from our Parametric Texture Design Workshop at Cademy. Creating a texture like this will be almost impossible to make with other traditional CAD softwares like Solidworks, Fusion or Alias. But using the Grasshopper plugin inside Rhinoceros 3D environment, we can create this and many complex textures in an easy and intuitive way!

In the Ad. Parametric Texture Workshop, we will learn how to apply these complex pattern to the mouse grip surface.
The textures are 3D printed using the Elegoo Mars Pro SLA resin printer. For the front part of the Mouse, we have used the white Standard Polymer Resin and for the back part the Grey Standard Polymer Resin.
The mouse form is modeled in Rhinoceros 3D with NURBS surfacing workflow. Details are added afterwards by Boolean Operations. Finally the textures are added using the parametric visual programming plugin Grasshopper 3D.
The textures are made using different workflows. You can Learn how to make the first variation V.1 of Triangular Panels in the free Workflow Webinar 4.0. The texture Variation V.2 & V.3 will be taught in the Ad. Parametric Texture Workshop.
The scene is rendered with Keyshot rendering software. A metallic material with custom HDRI is added in the scene to create the anodized effect on the material.
