Staten Island Ferry Poster

Staten Island Ferry
Honoring a hero. Supporting veterans.
In 2013, Army Staff Sgt. Michael Ollis tackled a suicide bomber who was part of an insurgent raid on a Forward Operating Base in Ghazni, Afghanistan. In doing so, Ollis saved the lives of several other soldiers.

In 2021, a new state-of-the-art commuter ferry named in his honor was dedicated at the St. George terminal in Staten Island. The new 100-million-dollar ship will connect Ollis’ hometown of Staten Island with Lower Manhattan, daily passing the Statue of Liberty and the New York City skyline that was forever altered on September 11, 2001.

I was honored to work with the SSG Michael Ollis Freedom Foundation to create this travel-poster-style illustration to commemorate the ferry’s dedication and help spread the story of this hero’s selfless sacrifice.
