"Fateful Ford's Theater"

On April 14th, 1865 President Abraham Lincoln was shot inside Ford’s Theater located at 10 St. NW. The brick facade of the building looks virtually the same 150 years later despite a needed reconstruction circa 1910 and restoration completed in 1968. The theater is operated in a partnership between the National Park Service and the Ford’s Theater Society.

In the Media

WAMU 88.5, American University Radio, is a well known NPR station where popular
programs like The Diane Rehm Show are produced. The staff of their Metro Connection
program contacted me about using the Ford’s Theater historical photomerge as the Web
cover image for a segment called “Then and Now”. In most cases I am happy to provide
limited rights to post my images online.
