Ohora is a Korean brand known for easy to use Gel Nail product. This Jiyoun Kim Studio and Ohara collaboration explores a newly launching higher tiered Gel Nail Tip line-up. Gel Nain Tip as a much improved product had holistic challenges in improving the overall product experience from product to packaging and its ecosystem such as Gel Lamp. Jiyoun Kim and his team explored wide range of design aspects to improve overall user experience of Gel Nail Tip; Gel Lamp product design, Gel Nail Tip packaging, and variety of applications within the product ecosystem such as remover tool and tray.
Key design challenge in this project was to express the brand heritage and value of Ohora in the most simple and intuitive form. All design items from packaging and applications are refined to achieve ‘minimal and credible’ image. Gel Lamp especially is designed with a single hinge that allows both finger and toe nails reducing down the mechanism which allowed for simple and clean form. Glassy inner surface not only create visual juxtaposition with the matt external finish but also boosts 11 high powered LEDs hardening effectiveness.
Ohora’s Gel Nail Tip and Pro Gel Lamp was launched in spring 2022.
