lots of women here get to be somehow tricky , believing this way they will get all what they want from their males
its a characteristic in Arabic slang describing women as scorpions ,because they always have tricky ways to get to their goals
while shooting this woman, I was in the protests against the corrupt regime of Mubarak ,and she looked really determined ,like all of us ,to get what she wants...
this time it wasn't money or food, it was Freedom
Scorpions always refer desert for me, and as a kid, i grew up in KSA which meant dessert, Scorpions, shisha, Camels and shma3' ( the Saudi head cover for men)

this lil girl i found in El MAX ,she was playing with her boy friends, all of them were boys, and she comped her hair so tight backwards that she looked like one of the boys, she almost tricked me !
Men for me symbolized as object who love to see women dance, that's why i used the musical instruments
and the Tarbosh & shanab used to be signs for manhood, in the good old days

This character is the closest to Egyptians
we all get betrayed and we manage to forgive
shooting this girl really affected me, she was all covered up with flies and dirt all over her face ,yet she managed to smile when she saw me approaching to take her photo
for me forgiveness is a number one quality that Egyptian Christians have
that's why i used symbols like The angel wings ,the key ,the light ray and the cross
as for the paper doll ,for me they symbolize a spirit .. something that souls only can understand..

when a woman is lost, she sits down in silence ... for a long while .. without saying a word
Shooting this woman: i kept staring at her for more than 15 minutes and she looked the same, NOT A SINGLE MOVE ... i knew she was hurt and somehow, i had some of her pain inside me
for me the chicken is a symbol of a person losing his skin and being alone all the time, feels almost like your own skin is peeled, just like fresh chicken
