This is a project of Heat Transfer analysis on an Aluminum heat sink. The main target of this project is to determine the contact surface temperature of the heat sink for a defined situation. This is a Steady State Thermal analysis.


Heat sink properties:

Material : Aluminum 6061
Contact Surface Dia : 20 mm
Core Dia : 25 mm
Outer Dia : 75 mm
Fin Height : 20 mm
Total Height : 25 mm
Number of Fins : 30


Boundary Conditions:

Heat flow through the contact surface : 10 W
Ambient Temperature : 40 °C
Film Co-efficient : 5 W/m².°C (Stagnant Air)


Results:

Temperature at the contact surface : 103.43 °C
Minimum temperature on the heat sink : 100.38 °C
