Mila's Beauty is a multibrand concept store in the very centre of Kyiv that truly believe that selfcare is a bit more than just cosmetics, it is one of the ways how to become a better version of yourself. That’s why the motto of store is “Be who you want to be”.
We finished it in mid-February 2022, so we are very pleased that we have the opportunity to show you the result.
The space is located on the first floor of a residential building, which previously was a cafe, so we did not make radical changes in the layout of the partitions, and we also left the commnications and refreshed some details.
The store is located in the courtyard and is not very visible from the street, so we decided to stick posters with the main message of the brand on the wall inside the courtyard, which is visible from the street.
“Be who you want to be” tells you the main poster.
"Strength, love, action, confidence, intention, desire" tells second.
"Lovelly, sad, strange, happy, tired, homely, without make-up, crazy, sexy, with bright makeup, calm" tells third.
We are all different - that's why we are beautiful.
We chose gray and metal as the main material of the project it reminded us of a laboratory, reflections of colored plexiglass remind us of highlighters and eyeshadows. Fur resembles brushes and sponges for applying makeup, bright playful futuristic of seventies are a thin line in interior style. The metal bar reflects a bright soft zone and paired with a blue plexiglass lamp creates #IseeUAflag which was not the intended effect, but for us now it is an important message.
First zone is a retail and coffee shop with a summer bar. To the right of the entrance are metal shelves with cosmetics brands. The mirror, in a fur frame plays in contrast with the metal and is a portal to the hall and a favorite Instagram zone for visitors. It was taken from an old store and updated. In the window niches there are bar tables made of plexiglass and a painted metal frames. In the morning and before noon, the sun passes through the glass and casts an incredible gradient against the gray background, the space comes to life and has an incredible view.
The soft zone is the point of attraction and the most striking design element, we used a sofa from an previous store, which was covered with fur, also a vintage leather chair and a futuristic armchair from a Ukrainian brand take us from the past to the future. The girl on the poster draws herself in squares as she sees herself. The way she wants to be.
The design of the carpet was created and made according to the design of the chief architect.
Then you find yourself in the blue zone, where a tunnel of RGB lamps leads you, which change their color and flirt with you to the music.. There is a stand with a mini showroom of brands and a photo studio where Instagram content is filmed. This room also has a futuristic vibe.
