For this project, we had access to the studio in our campus. We learned to use fill lights, backlights, strobe lights and how they can be played around to get the best out of every composition. This helped us emphasize what’s needed to set the frame in order to cut down the irrelevant information, which helps tremendously during post-production.

A fun and interesting project that helped me capture emotions and compose the frame accordingly to portray and emphasize them using a studio setup.
Shooting in natural light at night was explored and we were able to understand how to use the limited light available. We took an hour to plan the shoot and got it done in another 40mins.
I learned how to add audio properly to the video without distorting through different layers. I also got a better insight on editing when I got to see my teammates versions of the timeline. I understood the importance of storyboarding and bringing relevant actions and elements to the frame so that the audience is hooked and the visual experience is a good one.

Madgampally is a small village right next to our university. Here you can see people engaged in a variety of things. There are small chai stalls, a mandir that is the center of action there and so many more cottage industries that are scattered throughout the locality. We spent three days here talking to the villagers and learning more about them. After clicking pictures and making notes on different actions we saw, we also approached some people who were willing to talk about the different things that got our attention. On the next day, we were able to shoot clips from the frames we had chosen on the first day.
These are four 5-second short films that I took during the village visit. Editing done using Da Vinci Resolve.
