CLAUS™ (Community Loaded Archive for URL Sharing)™

How do we deal with a world full of constantly changing and new information? What sticks in our minds in times of information overload? How does acquisition of information work within the media flood? What remains after closing the browser? How do we share and how can we preserve our knowledge outside the internet? And what happens when obsolete technology meets new media?

CLAUS™ (Community Loaded Archive for URL Sharing)™ by Slowtech Factory™
Slowtech Factory™ is the response to the constantly rising, endless flood of information surrounding us and to the rapid progression of digital technology.
Through developing different projects, Slowtech Factory™ – consisting of five Master students from the Gutenberg-Intermedia master programme “Design for Participation” at the University of Applied Sciences Mainz – aims to illustrate the difficulties of visualising and preserving complex content by unstable, sensitive mass media.
To what extent are we addicted to the digital world and new media? How can dated, analogue technology help in securing fluid information?
We attempt to transfer relevant questions and topics to aged and therefore slow technologies. Thereby we reinterpret the technology itself. The emerging contrast between new and old media forms aswell as the dissimilarity in the content itself result in surprising efficiency, impact and aesthetics.
