KOISHI design is based on three principles: lightness, naturalness and rigor.
Concept sketch.

One of the main themes is the idea of a strong contrast between the concept of marble's heaviness and the lightness of the shape. The result is a form that suggests airiness, and almost seems to levitate.

Secondly, the desire to convey this message through the use of natural and primitive forms.

Finally, the search for rigor and simplicity, adding to the form a more solemn and pure aspect, going to eliminate any form of unnecessary or disturbing detail.
The name comes from the flat stones found in Karesansui gardens, also known as Zen gardens. These stones, as well as Koishi coffee tables, can be solitary and majestic characterizing the space, or grouped together defining the environment. The idea of relying on Japanese culture borns instinctively, because it calls to mind all the characteristics and fundamentals on which we wanted to design our product.
