I wanted the overall feeling to be very light and flowy, since Paul sings “I’m in love and it’s a sunny day.” The lettering needed to reflect that happy feeling. To accomplish this I added a lot of curlicues and angled the letters, almost as if they were floating into the air.
When it came time to add color, I selected pastel shades of yellow and blue. This was obviously done to denote the sun and sky, but softly, like on a bright, cool, spring day.
