I have tackled racing cars before but this time I had the idea to create some crashes, which are oftentimes spectacular in this particular sport, although fortunately modern safety standards make injuries and death very rare. 

I have no interest in this motorsport myself but having researched some footage of some crashes I used them as a reference point to create these images with the small 10cm diecast models. Rather incredibly, some of these are recreations of actual crashes.

Fairly simple to prop them up or suspend them, with debris, sparks and speed added in post. These weren’t my models, but lent to me, so I had to take extra caution not to cause them actual bodily harm. 

But I am happy with how the images turned out. You won’t be able to tell from these small samples but take my word that seeing the high-res versions on the big screen makes them pretty convincing.
