Marta Cortese is a textile and surface designer who creates freehand drawings
for fashion and interior design. In parallel with her work, she loves to devote herself to experimental calligraphy, a variant that approaches the pure sign,
up to the complete abstraction of the letter; she further elaborates her calligraphic tables through folds, cuts and binding, and transforms them into book-sculptures that can be opened and discovered in many different ways, letting oneself be carried by the creative flow.
"La mia scrittura" tells how Marta's passion for calligraphy was born and how she came in contact with this world. Through the ink and the paper tells a moment and his mood, the words are not legible, become the gesture to enter into a deep personal reflection.
Marta produces many written sheets, which she often binds in books. Also the binding is part of her work because it allows her not to let everything remain closed in a folder, but that it can be flipped and used when she needs inspiration.
