Using the life, work and theories of the designer William Morris as inspiration, my experimental typeface "Morris" was part historical research and part personal experimentation. By contrasting Morris' motifs and patterns against Geoffrey Tory's Classical roman capitals I hoped to draw on the beauty of Morris' work but also on the contradictions and conflicts in his life.
