CREATING GOOGLE DOODLES
According to Wikipedia, a Google Doodle is a special, temporary alteration of the logo on Google's homepage intended to commemorate holidays, events, achievements, and notable historical figures of particular countries. And they are definitely a great way to express one's creativity. So I tried my hand at creating one of these iconic altered logos
STAR WARS DAY DOODLE
I created an intergalactic starship battle (It shows the Millennium Falcon engaged in a dogfight with a lone tie fighter in an asteroid field) as it captures the most exciting and thrilling parts of Star Wars that fans love. Most of our favourite Star Wars moments consist of cool intergalactic chase scenes with lots of blaster fire and heart stopping maneuvers – hence, this doodle pays homage to that feeling of vicarious thrill that comes with every such sequence
Since movement and speed are an essential part of any Star Wars dogfight, I also decided to animate the blaster fire exchange between the starships
VINCENT VAN GOGH BIRTHDAY DOODLE
I started on this task by asking myself what Van Gogh was best known for and after a bit of research the answer was obviously The Starry Night – so I decided to go ahead and create a doodle for Van Gogh’s birthday based on the painting that is widely considered his magnum opus. I incorporated elements of the painting ‘The Starry Night’ into the Google doodle. The final illustration combines the beautiful colours of the painting with simple brushstrokes to try and emulate the texture and feel of the original
I also created a second version of this Google doodle with a slightly darker background which lends a more mellow feel to the whole piece
