Datavisualization on birthrates for the Charted pages of Popular Science.
The data that I got handed over was very extensive with information on a lot of countries. I chose to categorize them by income groups to get a better sense and overview on the development of the birthrates through the years. This is seen in the differences per group in the different subjects as well (access to contraception, education, medication).





To come to these sorts of visualizations, I try out the data in excel: see what graphs fit the data, and export these to Illustrator where I edit and style them according to my ideas. Here are some work in progress images
