Chronicled Portals pt.2 _Living on the edge.

The fabric seems to be a chaos and dense but after analyzing, its a spontaneous fabric, which is planned according to the human perspective , culture and needs. Such as privacy , shade and air movement by different air pressure.

Saliba street (Cross street)  is one of the main old streets in Islamic Cairo it runs from Al-Rumaila square ( Citadel square) all the way to al-sayydia Zainab square. Named the cross street due to its intersection with many other streets along its path.

Saliba street could be accessed through Port said road and Salah saleem road.

Poverty ,lack of awareness and violence towards those heritages.

We divided the street into four main nodes
-Al-Rumaila Square
-Mosque Prince Sheikhoun
- Mosque of Ibn Tulun
-Qal'at al-Kabsh

The main idea is to enhance walkability and give the street back to people through simple actions, with respect to heritage sites which enrich the street and restore the integration with nature.
-A water stream along the path dividing the path into fast and slow flow.

We chose Qale't el-Kabsh to embed our 6 Villas Project .
