20th Century Fox wanted an online experience to launch Life of Pi on Blu-Ray.
The product featured exclusive behind-the-scenes footage, 3D animation and crew interviews of this award-winning film (made with some serious VFX).
THE IDEA
To take the user on a journey that 'reconstructs' the film from its inception, concept art through to finished scenes.
Rich layers of an intense four years of film production would build in front of the viewer's eyes.
THE MULTIPLATFORM EXPERIENCE
I scripted the entire experience and worked with a designer/developer team to build the scroll-to-discover site.
As the user navigates, scenes build up from skeleton 3D models, proprietary sketches, green screens and CGI.
Exclusive trivia about the production process used in the film also builds in infographics.
THE RESULTS
With over 200,000 unique visits and an average user time of 4.00 minutes.
