The Directing Showcase
Theater Poster
This annual theater production showcases a variety of student directors and actors. Because there is no overarching theme, the short scenes that make up the show range anywhere from humor to tragedy. My concept for the show's poster design incorporated the traditional sock and buskin theater masks and the face masks we had been wearing due to Covid19. An early mask design had a smirking mouth that when worn upside down looked like a frown. To add more drama to the mouths, I changed to a triangular mask and intensified the expressions. The typography included a clean, friendly font with varying weights and colors to compliment the simple poster design.
