This is a result of the marathon devoted to "The van of the character" organized by pixel school. 

I chose count Monte Christo as a character and proposed a van with a form of boat, bookshelf, and the list of enemies. There are attributes of a sailor, as Edmon Dantez was a sailor of the ship named "Pharaoh", and of a pirate, as Count Monte Christo controlled some pirates. 

The collection of references includes the covers of books, the vans in form of boat, and the china food track from 5th element.

The navy sphere for me is associated with turquoise, and the color palettes were gathered from in color balance and color hunt.

Finally the shadows and surroundings were added. I would be glad for your feedback!
