For every reader that newly subscribes to the TechCabal newsletter, we needed an aesthetically pleasing welcome email. 

Many of the elements I used here was influenced by TechCabal’s Identity; the Astronaut and TC brand colours. In the visuals below, there is an astronaut coming out of an opening. I used this visual element to represent new subscribers coming in to experience the useful information TC has to offer.

To make the CTA more visible, I used a different colour as a highlight. Thereby prompting new users to click on them. 

Game of Votes is one of the newest newsletters from Zikoko. It is a flagship under Citizen that highlights Nigerian government decisions and policies in a fun and witty way. 

For the templated newsletter, I chose the colours green and white as a representation of Nigeria's flag. 

The illustration also has many Nigerian symbols; Coat of arms, the law, ballot boxes, fingerprints, etc. 

I decided to use hands as a visual representation, mostly because hands tend to represent action.

I also needed to emphasise on important content. These are represented through highlights and colour changes.  

Zikoko Daily newsletter has a section titled "In this Letter." It's a section that highlights top conversations for readers. One of the issues we had was that very few people paid attention to this section. To attract more subscribers to see it, I illustrated a hand holding the section like a disclaimer. 

The change in the direction increased clicks on the sections by 10%. 

We needed to create a welcome newsletter for Zikoko's new subscribers. 

Using Zikoko's colour guidelines, I illustrated a hand opening a letter. Since the brand perception for Zikoko is designed to feel personalised, I decided to give the effect of a friend (Zikoko) writing a letter to another friend (new subscriber).
