The Discord Bot
I was tasked to recreate the UI of my friend's
Discord Server Management Bot's online dashboard.
Research and Planning
BEFORE
After receiving the brief and inspecting
the existing page, I had to ask myself some questions:
Who is this bot for?
If this was their first impression of the bot, why would they want to use it?
How do I make the Dashboard easy to use for people
that are not familiar with how bots work?
I concluded that using colors and bold shapes to
distinguish the elements on the page may be the best solution.
Discord bots are often colorful by default, making this approach a fitting solution.
DESIGN
Since a home button would not make sense in this scenario, I've replaced it with a shortcut menu to the Support Discord, Patreon Page and a widget of my friend's choosing.
To support the ease of use for users that manage multiple servers,
I've also added a quick-change button.
Smartphones are now 3x more popular than desktop PC's,
so creating a mobile version is compulsory.
