The Maya Report
10 years ago, Teach For India produced 'Maya - the musical' whose story was about a princess finding her inner light. The musical transformed the lives of 30+ Teach For India students from under-resourced backgrounds. The production went above and beyond the script by creating and executing a curriculum that helped them find their inner potential. In 2022, we reached out to 17 of these students and interviewed them to understand the long-lasting impact of the production. Out of these 17, I interviewed 10 and a colleague of mine interviewed the other 7 and we wrote down their journeys in the form of approx. 500-word stories. My role in this report, apart from writing 10 of these stories, was to design, research, collect and analyze the data in the report, and collate it all in the form of this report.
Note: The illustrations and painted strokes used as backgrounds have not been made by me. These were made as a part of a book that was created to share the story of the musical. My role was to repurpose them and utilize them to create the report. This report was designed as a booklet.
