Germany Divided explores the work of Georg Baselitz and his contemporaries Marcus Lüpertz, Blinky Palermo, A.R. Penck, Sigmar Polke and Gerhard Richter. The publication coincided with the first public display of works on paper from the Dürckheim Collection at the British Museum.
The book offers a rare insight into the work of six artists who re-defined art in Germany in the second half of the twentieth century and illustrates how their Eastern German origins and the subsequent migration to the West influenced their artistic development.
