Awareness Poster - Stop Plastic Waste
Description
We created the poster advertisement for the World Wide Fund for Nature: WWF-Malaysia to remind the target audiences to decrease their plastics usage and avoid littering on the beach or elsewhere, as this behaviour endangers marine life and disrupts the ecosystem.
The headline of the advertisement, “Stop It or Save It, You Decide”, determines to inform the audiences that sea turtle’s life or death depends on their behaviour, trying to persuade viewer to sympathize with turtles. Furthermore, the body copy stated the current marine plastic pollution issue and its consequences on sea turtles. Besides, the sub headline “Reduce the usage of plastic to save them” is a direct persuasive message to convince audiences to reduce their plastic consumption and reliability on plastic.
Nevertheless, the graphics on the advertisement shows a sea turtle being choked by two objects - a plastic bag and human hands. The plastic bag hanging around the sea turtle’s neck indicate that the sea turtle could accidentally get twined to death. Meanwhile, the human hands are to describe humans are the main source for the plastics waste generation, hence our choking hands is to indicate that humans’ irresponsible behaviour has indirectly endangered the lives of sea turtles, making them suffer.
